Prep 1 of 3
Place at least 10 points all the way around. Points join in order around the tooth, so you can click in any order. More points on curves = better line.

Tracing margins at midnight?
Our exocad team designs crowns, abutments, bridges and full-arch cases overnight from your STL scans. You get an STL back, ready for any CAM. Your first case is free.
1 · Trace
Rotate the prep and click on the finish line. Points snap to the scan surface and join into a closed line around the tooth.
2 · Measure
We compare your line with the true margin of the model at 360 positions and report the mean and worst deviation in microns.
3 · Compete
Three preps from easy to hard (the last one is timed). Download your score card and send the challenge link to your lab.
Questions
Are these real patient scans?
No. The three preparations are generated by the game, with realistic scan noise added. No patient data is used, and nothing you do is uploaded.
How is the score calculated?
Your points are joined into a closed line. At every degree around the tooth we measure the 3D distance between your line and the true margin of the model. The score falls as the mean deviation grows, with a smaller penalty for the worst spot and for gaps where the line is not covered.
Is this how a margin is judged clinically?
It is a game. It trains the eye for finish lines on a scan; clinical margin detection depends on the real die, the scan quality and the material.
Who made it?
BoundlessCAD, a remote exocad design team for dental labs. We also made the free STL Check for scans.
